Without your continued support, we could not continue helping to rehome Weims in need, help owners through education and training, or host events for our Weim friends. All donations, no matter how big or small, cash or items for donation are always welcome and very much appreciated. Mile High Weimaraner Rescue uses the 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt, tax-deductible status from the Weimaraner Club of America - Rescue (Weimaraner Foundation Fund). Our local and national groups are operated by volunteers dedicated to the welfare of the Weimaraner breed. Weimaraners needing new homes are checked by a Veterinarian, spayed or neutered, updated on vaccines, tested for heartworms, and microchipped. Our national group receives an adoption fee for each Weimaraner we rehome. Our national group covers the costs of the above mentioned expenses. There are expenses that the national club can not cover, such as: tags, additional veterinary care, advertising, toys, leashes, collars, etc. For those expenses, our local group needs funds locally.

There is not a facility available to house the dogs needing to be rehomed. Dogs are typically kept in their own home, in a foster home, in a boarding facility, or at a shelter until they can be rehomed. Our group covers the expenses for the care the dogs receive. Adopt a dog in spirit. Sponsor a Weimaraner with MHWR Rescue!

We understand there are those of you who cannot take a Weim into your home or are unable to offer volunteer services but want to help MHWR. For this reason we offer the 'Sponsor-A-Dog' program. You may pledge a monthly fee in any amount to help rescue a specific dog in our care or to help all our rescue dogs, alternatively you may want to offer a one-time donation.
**Note** When donating in PayPal, please click onto the link "Add special instructions to the seller", and enter the rescue dogs name(s) so we know which dog(s) you'd like to sponsor.

Who Can Sponsor?
Anyone can sponsor a dog - individuals, families, school groups, businesses, social or service clubs.

Can I sponsor a dog as a gift?
Yes, dog sponsorships make wonderful gifts for holidays or milestones like birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, promotions, graduations, births and memorials. Sponsorships are as fun to give as they are to receive. We'll include a "gift" card and mail it directly to the recipient along with recognition on our MHWC website.

Why does MHWR need sponsors?
The process of getting a Weim ready for adoption is often an expensive proposition. We exist solely on adoption fees and donations. Often the adoption fee does not begin to cover the costs of readying a dog for its new home. Although many wonderful veterinarians offer us a discount on the cost of basic veterinary care, some rescue Weims requires the expensive attention of veterinary specialists. The costs of surgeries, specialized procedures and medications add up. It can cost anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars to remove and biopsy lumps, treat heartworm infection, and perform orthopedic surgery. Yet we can't turn our backs on these Weims that need us most. That is why your assistance is so important. Your sponsorship can be a one-time gift, or it can be a monthly contribution to provide continuing care.

If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, send a check to our national Weimaraner Foundation Fund. They can not guarantee that the money would go directly to dogs in Colorado because that fund helps dogs around the country.

To make a "tax deductible donation" please make a check payable to the "Weimaraner Foundation Fund" and write "rescue" on the memo line. Be sure to include that this is for Weims in Colorado because they will write that in the monthly Weimaraner Club of America magazine.
